Guest Instructor/Speak Leading AHL Defensemen in Scoring

Each summer we try to introduce the students at the summer hockey school to role models and players that can inspire them to follow their path and reach the highest level of hockey. One guest instructor / speaker that we are so proud of and so pleased that he continues to find the time to address our summer hockey school is MARK BARBERIO. Mark played his hockey at Lakeshore. Made the jump to Midget AAA as a 15 year old, was drafted into the Quebec Major Junior League from his Midget AAA year by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. Three and a half years with Moncton, Mark went to the Memorial Cup and played against Taylor Hall and the Windsor Spitfires. Drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2008 entry draft, 6th round, 152nd overall. Mark takes time to explain his voyage, from Bantam AA to today. And, then, when he hits the ice and you see his speed and his shot, he catches the students attention. Mark continues to develop. 1. Mark was selected as a starter for the Eastern Conference All Stars in the AHL All star game held in Atlantic City, NJ on Monday January 30th. Mark registered two assists for the Eastern squad.

Of course, Mark patrols the blueline for the Norfolk Admirals (Tampa Bay Lightning's farm team).
