Two Tiger Paw Instructors Meet Up in the QMJHL game
Sunday, in a matchup between two former Tiger team mates and current Tiger Paw Elite Summer Hockey School instructors, both guys got on the board. Alex Cote scored a goal for his Halifax Mooseheads who were visiting the Acadie Bathurst Titans. Matthew Bissonette registered three assists in a losing cause as the Mooseheads defeated the Titans 6-5.

Tiger Paw Elite Hockey School Student Nominated for Patty Kazmaier Award as best NCAA Division I Player
The 15th annual Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, presented annually to the top player in Division I women’s hockey has narrowed their candidates nominees list to 30.
Held in conjunction with the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four, the award will be awarded at a brunch ceremony on March 17 at the Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth, Minn.
All 34 D-I women’s coaches were asked to nominate players for the award and each player had to be nominated by at least two coaches in order for her to make the official nomination list.
The 34 coaches will select the top 10 finalists from among the group of 30 nominees, with the announcement taking place on March 1. A 13-member selection committee will choose the three finalists (announced March 8), as well as the award recipient.
Among the nominees is former Lac St Louis Tigers defenseman Lauriane Rougeau. Congratulations Lauriane!

We received confirmation that the NCAA SHOWCASE is booked for the MultiSport in Chateauguay FRIDAY June 22, SATURDAY June 23 and SUNDAY June 24th. Schools have begun to confirm their attendance.

Tiger Paw Announcement: Martin Lee returns to Instruct
Former Lac St Louis Tiger assistant coach Martin Lee will be returning to the Tiger Paw Elite Summer Hockey School after his first season playing hockey in the UK. Martin started with the Oxford City Stars and then, in January, was moved to the Bristol Bulls.
Martin graduated from the Haaga - Helia University in Finland, studying Applied Sciences as applied to sports, specifically hockey coaching. Martin played tier II Junior in Finland for three years as well.
While serving as an assistant coach with the Lac St Louis Tigers, Martin served in the same capacity with the Concordia Stingers Men's Hockey team under the guidance of Stingers Head Coach Kevin Figsby.
The work that Martin completed during his time with the Tigers represented the content for his thesis paper at Haaga - Helia University where he discussed the pros and cons of video teaching/coaching to elite level midget aged players.
Martin has represented his native New Zealand in a number of world championships and won gold at the 2007 U20 world championships Division II. That is the same tournament as Canada, but a different bracket. Martin will travel to Reykjavik Iceland April 12th to 18th. http://www.iihf.com/channels1112/wm-iia/statistics.html
Martin left his home in Kerikeri, New Zealand to pursue his goal of playing professional hockey at age 15 when he moved to the Ukraine without friends or family. From there he moved to Canada , the United States, Finland and now the UK.

Tiger Paw Elite Summer Hockey School Announce Return of Another Instructor
Lauren Nutkevitch will be returning, again, this summer to help work with our students. Lauren attends Manhattanville College in Purchase, New York and is a product of the Lac St Louis Elites program. Lauren will work with the girls and our defencemen students.
A little bit of Lauren's accomplishments as a player
2010-11: Named an ECAC East Conference Honorable Mention … one of six Valiants and two defensemen to appear in all 29 games … led all Valiant blueliners with 10 points on four goals and six assists … scored her first goal of the season against Trinity (11/23) … also found the net on the power play against #3 Plattsburgh (1/8) … had a goal and two assists in the final weekend of the regular season, including her first multi-point game of the year with a power-play goal and an assist versus Saint Michael’s (2/18) … clinched the ECAC East Tournament championship with an empty net goal to beat #3 Norwich (3/6).

2009-10: Named to the ECAC East Conference All-Rookie team … took the ice in 26 of 27 games as a freshman … led all Valiant defensemen in scoring with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points … led the team in power play points with 11 (6g, 7a) … finished second on the team in power play goals with six … collected her first point in her collegiate debut, assisting on a goal against UMass-Boston (11/7) … scored her first career goal in the home opener against Holy Cross (11/13) … had her first multi-point game (1g, 1a) in her third game against Nichols (11/14) … began the season with a five-game point scoring streak, concluding with a season-high three points on a goal and two assists against Southern Maine (11/21) … scored a shorthanded goal against Elmira (11/28) … netted the game-winning goal in a come-from-behind victory over Saint Anselm (2/19).

Former Tiger Paw Student Max Cote Selected Offensive Player of the Week Midget AAA
Former TIGER Paw Elite Summer Hockey School student Max Cote has been selected offensive player of the week for the final week of the Midget AAA season.
During the week, Max scored two goals, added four assists for a total of 6 points including a game winning goal on Friday night's come from behind 6-5 victory over the St Eustache Vikings.

The Tiger Paw Elite Summer hockey school will be making an announcement later this week regarding the NCAA Showcase St Jean Baptiste weekend.

Tiger PAw Instructor Alex Cote Selected Scholastic player of the month for the Halifax Mooseheads
Tiger Paw Elite Summer Hockey School instructor and former Lac St Louis Tiger, Alex Cote, has been selected the scholastic player of the month for the Halifax Mooseheads.
After compiling the latest school results, team academic consultants from around the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today released the names of the Scholastic Players of the Month for January.
This initiative’s goal, which was developed by the QMJHL and its member clubs, is to recognize student athletes’ performances both on the ice and at school. The players are selected for their school results, their implication, the school-hockey conciliation, their team spirit and their on-ice performances.
